2023-24 School Year


It is my pleasure to announce the continuation of our great Mayor's Youth Council. The 2023-2024 Columbus Mayor's Youth Council marks 16 years since its first induction back in 2007. After a two years long hiatus due to the pandemic, the Mayor's Youth Council officially resumed during the school year of 2022-2023 wherein we had a diverse group of student participants from high schools across the city.

We are grateful for the legacy they left being the first Mayor's Youth Council under the Gaskin Administration. Being so, they tailored their mission to greater focus on direct political involvement and influence; shifting their efforts to communicating with local officials through podcasts. This experience not only was unique in that it gave members a chance to ask their city and county leaders specific questions regarding the state of their municipality and their future missions, but it also will give the public greater insight into government affairs. This year, we intend to stay true to our mission of fostering transparency with youth and the general public as well through the use of social media and technology.

Please remember to fill out the form in its entirety, and please include one letter of recommendation from someone who is unrelated to the student.
